The steakhouse is the standout, backed by a buffet and casual options, and the real draw is the Colosseum — a 5,000-seat theatre booking names you'd expect in a far bigger city. There's a spa and pool for the slow morning after, too.

Pair a concert with a night on the floor and Caesars becomes a genuine weekend rather than just a casino stop. The whole property is engineered around that combination, and when a good act is in town it works superbly.

Right on the Detroit border, it's an easy trip for a vast cross-border catchment, and rates are keen for the size and quality — often the best value-for-scale in the whole guide. You get a lot of resort for the money.

Time your visit to a Colosseum show and it's hard to beat for a big, loud, good-value weekend. Come for calm and you've picked the wrong hotel; come for spectacle and it delivers in full.
